Recently updated IE to 7.0 and now my security system says I need to update to IE6 .1. WHY?

I always thought that the higher the number 7.0 was a updated version of the the same file that was a 6.1 or 6.2. Am I wrong?

Sounds like Windows got confused... this is quite normal.

Rollback your computer to a point where you still had ie6, and try to get ie7 again.

But I honestly think that you'd be happier with Firefox - the vast majority of the comparesons of Firefox 1.5 (or 2.0) vs IE7 ... came to the conclusion that IE7 is just a version of Firefox that isn't as polished.

Firefox is a free 5mb download, fast install, copies over your favourites, cookies, etc. It blocks pop-ups naturally, is more secure... the list goes on. The main thing I adore about Firefox is that it's customizable beyond your imagination.

(Blocks banner ads, flash ads, iframe ads) Adblock Plus - http://adblockplus.org

(Loads filters for the above addon) Adblock Filterset.G Updater - https://addons.mozilla.org/mozilla/1136/

Just got to Mozilla Firefox, many problems solved that way.
Sounds like the program is not to up with what is going on.
No you are not wrong on one point, but you are right on the other point. You see the ie6 have the infor what you give it but the ie7.0 don't have it, so you get to update it.
may be just one of its problems.. Seems like most people are experiencing something with IE7. You can do a system restore to remove 7 if you want to...

Try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:

start

programs

accessories

systems tools

system restore

This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.
